RELAS meetings

There was a well attended public meeting on 17 July at 20:00 in Gamlingay at which these slides were presented.

There was a full house for a public meeting held on 23rd Feruary 2023 at Little Gransden Village Hall:

• RELAS presented these slides explaining the background to AD6, current RELAS activity and progress. After illustrating the magnitude of the problem with recent flight data, it was explained why the problem is expected to worsen. There was also a discussion of the negative health and climate effects of increased flights. It was emphasised how important it is to continue complaining.
• There were further contributions from Rt. Hon. Jonathan Djanogly MP, Cllr Dr Tumi Hawkins and others.
• Anthony Browne MP was out of the country on business but contributed this video.

LLA state, "We’ve made it a requirement that all aircraft flying into LLA adopt a continuous descent approach (CDA) that significantly reduces noise". Local residents experience is that this directive is not being properly applied.

European Union against aircraft nuisances. This includes webinars about a citizen science project to track plane noise.

Climate Change Committee (28/6/23) 2023 Progress report to parliment. Findings include the need for a framework to manage airport capacity due to continued airport expansion in recent years, counter to committee's assessment that there should be no net airport expansion across the UK.
